General Questions

Preparation

On this page, you will find questions to help you prepare, a glimpse of what to expect, and some general preparation tips.

We will briefly go over your answers or questions together before the session starts.

  • Have you experienced sound healing before? If so, what was your experience?

  • Can you describe what you currently need that made you book this session?
Perhaps curiosity about what it brings, a need for relaxation, more connection with yourself, or something specific?

  • The questions below are important for me to take into account during the session, or they may be a reason to have contact first. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me.

    • Are you currently pregnant? If so, which trimester?

    • Are you sensitive to sound or do you have hearing issues such as tinnitus, hyperacusis or Ménière's disease?

    • Do you have epilepsy or have you experienced epileptic seizures in the past?

    • Do you have a pacemaker or another implanted medical device?

    • Do you have a psychiatric condition such as psychosis, schizophrenia or a severe depression?

    • Do you experience PTSD or a recent trauma that could be triggered by sound?

    • Do you have high blood pressure or heart problems?

    • Have you recently had surgery or a bone fracture?

    • Do you have any metal implants in your body?

    • Do you find it difficult to relax or do you sometimes experience dissociation?

    • Are you experiencing anything (else) specific I should know about, such as an illness or pain?

  • Final check questions. You do not need to explain, just answer yes or no: For any reason, do you feel uncomfortable being touched? For any reason, do you feel uncomfortable having your eyes covered with an eye mask?

During the Session

  • Sound healing is about sound and vibration, not music. Some sounds may blend harmoniously, others may not. Sounds can sometimes be soft and sometimes louder or more intense. Try to accept the sounds as they come, without judgment. Every sound has a purpose. If outside noise appears, such as a siren or a doorbell, that is okay. All sounds are allowed and they will pass on their own.

  • In addition to sound, there is also silence. So sometimes you might hear nothing at all.

  • If the sounds make you feel uneasy, that is not a problem. That might even be part of what you need. But if you feel truly uncomfortable or experience any pain, that is not the intention. Please let me know.

  • The sounds may stir something in you, such as emotions, physical sensations or visual impressions. That is completely normal. You may have tears, feel vibrations in your body or drift off into a dreamlike state. Your journey is personal. Try not to control it. Simply let it happen and surrender to the experience. It is also completely fine if nothing in particular seems to happen. That is also normal. Nothing is required. The sounds will do their work anyway. Everyone responds differently and every session is different.

  • During the session, you will lie under a blanket to stay warm (since your body cools down when still). It also provides a sense of comfort. If you feel uncomfortable, let me know. There are always more blankets or other options available.

  • I may use instruments on your body, such as a Tibetan singing bowl. Is that okay for you? If so, please make sure jewelry, buckles or other hard/ metal items are out of the way so they do not resonate unintentionally.

Comfort

Comfort is very important during your session. Make sure you are wearing comfortable clothing, without buckles, hard embellishments or zippers (to avoid unwanted resonance), which keeps you warm (as you will cool down when laying still). If in doubt, bring extra socks or a thick sweater.

Digestion

Ideally, you have had something to eat and drink before the session, leaving enough time for digestion.

If you’re interested in setting an intention or adressing an issue, it will help to take a moment before the session to let your mind wonder and feel what it is that would benefit you.
